Decreased Naturalization due to Rise in Fees

The above article examines the decline in the rate of naturalization in this country. Further, the author states that this decline is directly related to the rise of naturalization fees coupled with lower average incomes of Legal Permanent Residents, the majority of which fall below the poverty line. Lastly, this article suggests that making to cost of naturalization more affordable will not only make it more accessible to the majority of Legal Permanent Residents and their families, but that as a whole it is better for society.
